  1. Winter is here to stay for a while…I have always felt grateful that some birds weather it with us.

    • Thank you, I too appreciate the birds and following th tracks in the snow. Aside, years ago when I lived in Ottawa (as a teenager), I could find the winter rabbits in the urban forests, but out here in my little corner, there are rare.

      • Funny you should say that, last time I was in Ottawa we stayed at a hotel across from the Parliament Buildings and there were cottontails everywhere on their grounds… We only have the odd varying hare here. I’ve been told this happens because less predators venture into urban areas.
